The Witch's Tale with Keloglan

 Once upon a time, there was once a bald young man who lived with his mother in a beautiful Anatolian village where the birds were singing incessantly in a sieve of straw. This Bald lad doesn't like to work at all. He was mischievous and whenever he got the chance, he would lie in a shadow and dream. Everyone loved this sweet-spoken, smiling young man, who wandered from village to village, and they called him Keloğlan. Keloğlan went to the edge of the creek as his donkey got on a larch before his mother woke up one morning. Lying in the shade of a large tree, he began to dream. A woman passing by at that time saw Keloğlan thinking absentmindedly, smiling and saying, “Keloğlan, do you want to achieve your dreams? Keloğlan, who immediately got up from where he was lying, was quite surprised. How does this woman know about my dreams, she thought, and started scratching her bald head. The witch said, "Hey Keloğlan, I'm telling you. Did not you hear it? Me." “Yes, yes, but how do you know what my dreams are?” said. Hahahaha “Because I'm a witch. Come on, let me tell you how to heal the sultan's daughter." Said. The beautiful daughter of the sultan was caught in an incurable disease. All the doctors in the country tried to cure him. However, none of them had been able to heal him. Keloğlan always dreamed of healing the Princess and marrying her. Keloğlan stood up immediately and carefully listened to the Witch woman. “Behind that mountain is a red rose blooming. If you can find that rose and manage to feed a leaf to the Princess. The princess gets better. Oh, don't forget that there are a lot of bandits on that mountain. If you fall into their hands, you cannot escape.” Said. After Keloğlan Witch thanked the woman, she immediately got on her donkey and went towards the mountain. The mountain is huge. Keloğlan has gone a long way, the creek has gone far, the hill has gone straight, and finally it has reached the top of the mountain. He was quite tired. He went into a cave he saw on the top of the mountain and lay down and fell into a deep sleep from where he lay. In her sleep, she said, "Princess, come to her quickly, Keloğlan, I'm waiting for you." Keloğlan, who opened his eyes when he said it, got up immediately when he saw that there were bandits on his head. “Hello lads.” Keloğlan started to speak by saying, after telling them who he was, he started to tell the Old Turkish Tales. The leader of Keloğlan's beloved bandits, "Tell me, since you dare to climb this mountain, you have an important reason." Smiling thugs. “Oh, Keloğlan, you are so naive. There is no medicine here. Anyway, spend the night here. In the morning, you'll be on your way." Said. Keloğlan, who spent the night there, thanked them in the morning and started to search for Gül, whom the witch woman had mentioned. There was almost no place he didn't look, but he couldn't find the Rose anywhere. He was about to return in a state of despair when, when he saw a crimson rose growing in a crevice in a rock, "So the Witch was right." Saying that, he ran to Gul. Keloğlan, who could not bear to pluck Gül, plucked a few leaves from Gül and set out for the palace. Keloğlan, who reached the door of the palace, told the people at the door that he had come to heal the Princess. But the people at the door, thinking that he was making fun of them, did not let him in. Keloğlan, who tried to enter the palace for days, tried every way. But he was not admitted. Lying under a tree. The witch woman who came to Keloğlan, who was singing sadly, said, "I see you have found Gül. But you couldn't enter the palace? Do you want me to help you?" Keloğlan got up from where he was lying, “Yes, please help me.” Said. The woman handing a cardigan to Keloğlan, wear this cardigan in the evening. As soon as you wear it, you become invisible. Wait by the door, the cooks will bring special food for the princess from outside. Follow them and they'll take you to the princess. The Keloğlan Witch, rubbing her hands with joy, thanked the woman and went to the princess's room by doing what she said. After the sick Princess had her dinner, everyone left the room. At that moment, Keloğlan appeared out of nowhere, taking off his cardigan. Princess “Who are you? How did you get in here?" he asked. "Do not be afraid, princess, I am a strange Keloğlan who gave his heart to you and came to heal you" Keloğlan's sweet language and warmth pleased the princess very much. Keloğlan, who was sitting next to the princess, started talking, and after a while, scratching his bald head, Keloğlan said, "Oh princess, I forgot to give you the medicine that will cure you." Saying that, he handed the rose petal out of his pocket to the princess. The princess, who started to chew that rose petal as she took it, came to her senses within minutes. There was no trace of his illness. The Princess, who called her father, introduced him to Keloğlan, who healed him. Seeing that his daughter had regained her former health, the Sultan looked at Keloğlan and said, "Ask whatever you want from me."
